1. Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to all catering services provided by Kate Dewhurst, trading as KD Cuisine, a sole trader operating in the catering business. By placing an order or booking our services, the client agrees to be bound by these terms.

2. Services

We provide catering services for private events, corporate functions and other occasions as agreed in writing. Services may include food preparation, delivery, setup, staffing and cleanup, depending on the package selected.

3. Booking and confirmation

  • 3.1 All bookings are subject to availability.
  • 3.2 A written quotation will be provided based on your requirements.
  • 3.3 A non-refundable deposit of 10% is required to secure the booking.
  • 3.4 The booking is confirmed once the deposit is received and written confirmation is provided.

4. Payment terms

  • 4.1 A further non-refundable deposit of 40% is due 4 weeks before the event date.
  • 4.2 We accept payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
  • 4.3 Late payments may incur statutory interest at 8% plus the Bank of England base rate.

5. Cancellations and refunds

  • 5.1 Cancellations must be made in writing.

6. Changes to booking

  • 6.1 Changes to guest numbers or menu selections must be made at least 7 days before the event.
  • 6.2 We will do our best to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee acceptance.

7. Dietary requirements and allergies

  • 7.1 You must inform us in writing of any allergies or dietary requirements at least 7 days before the event.
  • 7.2 While we take reasonable steps to accommodate dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that food will be free from trace allergens.
  • 7.3 All ingredients are subject to availability and may be substituted.

8. Equipment and venue access

  • 8.1 You must ensure appropriate facilities and access are available at the venue.
  • 8.2 You are responsible for any hired equipment and will be liable for loss or damage.

9. Liability

  • 9.1 We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • 9.2 Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the services.
  • 9.3 Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, acts of government or supplier failure.

11. Complaints

Complaints must be raised in writing within 48 hours of the event. We will aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
